Copying Attributes

This quick entry covers the Copy Attributes Add-On.  This simple add-on allows you to take the transform (and many other attributes) of an object, and apply it to another object.  So first, enable the add-on through the user preferences menu.

To show how this works, we'll take the standard cube, and move it's location and rotation to be the same as the camera.  This would be like, if you had your camera positioned to look at an object, but then later perhaps you want to move a character so that it is looking through that same view, you could use this trick.

To apply it, basically select the object to receive the attribute first, then select the source.  So in this example, since we want the cube to move, the cube is selected first and the camera second.  Then press [Ctrl + C].  The menu below will be shown, and all available attributes can be copied.

As mentioned prior, when applying the location and rotation, you can now see how the cube is orientated to match the camera.
